Welcome to The Sauce Geek blog!

I am a science and technology geek who is also passionate about home cooking and creating delicious, sophisticated meals. Cooking is not just a hobby for me, it is a journey of discovery and continuous improvement. I am constantly on a journey to discover new foods, learn new techniques and improve my cooking skills.

One area that I am particularly interested in is sauces. I believe that sauces can make or break a dish and can truly elevate the overall flavor and experience of a meal; whether it’s the Béchamel used in a lasagna, a pan sauce served with steak or a sweet Sabayon served with ripe strawberries.

However, I have had occasions where I have spent a lot of time making a sauce, only to end up not satisfied with the result.

But, just like anything else in life, sauce making is a skill that can be improved by learning the right techniques and a bit (sometimes a lot) of practice. That’s why I’ve decided to start this blog – to document my journey of learning and improving my sauce-making skills, and to share my learnings with others who are also interested in mastering the art of sauce-making.

Whether you’re a seasoned chef or a beginner cook, I hope you’ll find something here that will inspire you to get creative in the kitchen and improve your cooking. So join me on this journey as we explore fundamental techniques, ingredients and recipes for creating delicious and satisfying sauces.
